The Bihar government has recently reshuffled its police department by transferring 71 IPS officers. This change includes new appointments for many district Superintendents of Police (SPs) and assigning senior officers to different roles. The updates aim to enhance the efficiency of the police force.

In this reshuffle, Preeta Verma has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation. Kundan Krishnan has been assigned as the Director General of Police for Operations and will also oversee the Special Branch.

Many districts have new police captains. Kantesh Kumar Mishra is now the SSP for Muzaffarpur, while Sushil Kumar takes over in Gaya. Other districts like Bhagalpur and Saran have also seen new SPs appointed to improve local law enforcement.

In addition to district changes, there are new appointments at higher levels. Ranjit Kumar Mishra has become the IG for Cyber Crime, and Manoj Kumar has been promoted to IG at Headquarters. The government has also focused on strengthening cyber security and liquor prohibition units.

This reshuffle is part of a broader effort to improve administrative efficiency within the police department. The changes have been approved by the Deputy Secretary to the Government and are seen as necessary steps to enhance law enforcement capabilities across Bihar.
