This article shares the news about schools in Bihar being closed due to severe cold weather conditions.

Severe cold has hit Bihar, leading to school closures in several districts. The cold wave is affecting many areas, and the Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures may drop even further in the next few days.

Due to the harsh weather, school holidays have been extended in four districts: Begusarai, Arrah, Saharsa, and Madhepura. The district administrations are prioritizing the health and safety of children with these decisions.

In Begusarai and Arrah, all classes up to the 8th grade will be closed until January 13. In Saharsa and Madhepura, schools will stay shut until January 14. However, classes for students in 9th grade and above will continue from 10 AM to 4:30 PM with necessary precautions.

In Saharsa, classes for 11th grade and above will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM. During this time, students will receive hot cooked meals in Anganwadi centers from 12 noon to 2 PM. This measure is to ensure children stay warm and well-fed during the cold spell.

The local administrations are advising everyone to stay indoors as much as possible during the chilly mornings and evenings. They will keep monitoring the weather and issue further updates as needed based on the conditions.

Summary:

  • Severe cold has led to school closures in Bihar.

  • Schools in Begusarai and Arrah will close until January 13.

  • Saharsa and Madhepura schools are shut until January 14.
