Income Tax and ED Conduct Major Raid in Raxaul, Seizing Cash and Documents from Businessman Mohammad Kalim’s Properties

A big operation took place in Raxaul, Bihar, where a team from the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate raided the home and businesses of businessman Mohammad Kalim. This started early on Friday morning and has been ongoing for over 30 hours. The authorities had been monitoring Kalim’s financial deals for the past six months, leading to this extensive raid.

The raids are not just limited to Kalim’s house and his businesses, including a Hero Agency and Tanishq showroom. The investigation is also looking into the places related to his relatives and locations like Chawal Bazaar and Pareva. In addition, the Chartered Accountant’s office handling Kalim’s finances has also been searched for important financial documents.

Due to the sensitive nature of this operation, strict security measures are in place. Initially, Bihar Military Police were on the scene, but now the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has taken charge of security. They have deployed personnel with modern weapons at various points throughout Raxaul to ensure safety during the raids.

So far, there have been significant discoveries, including large amounts of cash and valuable jewelry. Notably, a considerable number of Rs 2000 notes were found, which has sparked discussions. The team has also recovered important documents related to land transactions and properties that are allegedly linked to Kalim.

This operation is being described as one of the largest raids ever in Raxaul, involving a convoy of 36 vehicles and over 150 security personnel. Officials are being tight-lipped, stating they will disclose total recoveries only after the investigation is completed. The business community in the area is now watching closely for the outcome of this operation.
