In Bihar, a new high-level railway bridge is set to be built over the Bagmati River. This bridge will connect the districts of East Champaran, Shivhar, and Sitamarhi, enhancing the railway network in the area.
The railway department has issued a work order for constructing a 61-meter-long and about 9-meter-wide bridge in Shivhar. This bridge, designed for two tracks, is expected to be the largest on this railway section, with an estimated cost of around 70 crores.
This new railway line will start from Sitamarhi, pass through Shivhar, and extend to Motihari. This development will significantly improve connectivity for passengers and freight transport, making travel easier and quicker.
Over five lakh residents from nearby areas like Minapur, Sivaipatty, and Turkia will benefit directly from this new rail network. Currently, the main railway stations are about 10-12 kilometers away, but this bridge will reduce that distance.
The construction of this railway bridge is not only expected to improve passenger services but also boost local markets and agriculture. This project, with an estimated total cost rising to 926 crores, marks a significant step in enhancing transport infrastructure in Bihar.
