This article shares updates on new reservation rules for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, including ticket policies and fare structures.

The Patna Railways has introduced new rules for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, making ticket reservations more strict and clear. Starting now, only passengers with fully confirmed tickets can travel, and there won’t be any partially confirmed RAC tickets available.

One major change is the elimination of ‘VIP culture’. This means no special seats will be reserved for influential people. However, women, senior citizens, disabled persons, and those holding duty passes will still get reservations based on existing rules.

For fare details, the minimum distance for ticket pricing is set at 400 kilometers. Even if someone travels less than that, they have to pay for 400 kilometers. The fares for AC classes are ₹1520 for AC 1, ₹1240 for AC 2, and ₹960 for AC 3. Beyond 400 kilometers, the fare will vary per kilometer based on the class.

To make travel easier, the berth allocation system has been improved. Senior citizens above 60 years and women above 45 years will be given lower berths if available. Also, passengers traveling with small children will get lower berths on priority to ensure a comfortable journey.

The Railways will now only process refunds through digital payments to speed up the process. Refund requests must be initiated within 24 hours of ticket cancellation. If someone can’t use digital payment, they will still get a refund as per regular rules. The commercial operations of the Vande Bharat Sleeper are expected to start soon, with more details coming out shortly.

Summary:

  • New strict ticket rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper train.

  • No VIP seats; certain groups still have reservation rights.

  • Minimum fare applies for 400 km, with specific class rates.

  • Improved berth allocation for senior citizens and families.

  • Refunds will be processed only through digital payment methods.
