A new railway line in the Kosi region has successfully completed speed trials, promising better travel and economic opportunities for locals.
On Friday, a big milestone was achieved for railway passengers in the Kosi region. The newly built rail line from Baijnathpur Andauli Junction to New Jhajha Junction successfully passed high-speed trials, reaching speeds of 110 kilometers per hour. This test was supervised by Guru Prakash, the Commissioner of Railway Safety from Kolkata.
During his visit, Guru Prakash carefully checked the new track’s safety features and operational systems at both junctions. He inspected important areas like the panel room and maintenance room, ensuring everything was in order. He also looked at railway gates and gave strict orders to fix any issues related to track quality and safety.
This new rail section is set to improve train services to Supaul and nearby areas. Officials mention that regular train services will begin soon, once the final safety report is ready. This development is expected to make train travel easier and boost local businesses and employment opportunities.
The inspection kicked off with a traditional puja, where Guru Prakash inaugurated the rail line with Vedic chanting, breaking a coconut and cutting a ribbon. This was followed by the speed trial, showcasing the strength of the new rail line.
Senior officials from East Central Railway were present during this significant trial. With this new line, the future looks promising for both travelers and local businesses, as it opens up new avenues for trade and transport in the region.
