Today, Bihar is getting two new Amrit Bharat Express trains. Prime Minister Modi will flag off these trains, adding to the state’s railway services. One of the trains, Sealdah–Banaras Express, will connect Banaras through Patna Junction, starting its regular service on January 23.
The second train, Panvel–Alipurduar Express, was inaugurated recently and will also stop at Patliputra Junction and Danapur. With these new services, Patna residents can look forward to better connectivity and more travel options.
As for the timings, the Sealdah–Banaras Express will leave Sealdah at 7:30 PM and arrive in Banaras at 7:20 AM the next day. It will run three days a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The return train from Banaras will depart at 10:10 PM on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
Fares for the trains have not been fully announced yet. However, it is expected that the general fare for the Sealdah-Banaras route will be around ₹300, while the sleeper fare could be ₹420. These trains are designed to be faster and more economical for passengers, particularly benefiting the middle-class travelers.
Looking ahead, other Amrit Bharat Express trains will also be inaugurated today, covering routes through Bihar. Passengers hope for more stoppages at major stations in the future, making travel even more convenient.
