What’s inside:

This article discusses the poor condition of a road in Motihari, Bihar, and the public’s frustration over the government’s inaction despite claims of development.

In Motihari district, a road connecting to Areraj via Sangrampur is causing a lot of concern among locals. The road is in such bad shape that it’s hard to tell where the road ends and the potholes begin. The Bihar Road Construction Minister has announced a reward for sending photos of potholes, which many locals find laughable given the road’s current condition.

This road is important for many devotees who visit the Someshwarnath Mahadev Temple, especially during festivals. People come from distant places like Uttar Pradesh and Vaishali to participate in religious events. Unfortunately, what used to be a road for pilgrims has turned into a difficult path, making it hard even for pedestrians to walk safely.

Residents are frustrated because the foundation stone for road repair was laid just before the elections, promising improvements. However, four months later, no work has started. Villagers felt hopeful when the stone was laid but are now disappointed that nothing has been done, and the road remains dangerous.

Not just devotees, but school children and patients are also suffering due to the bad road. It’s tough for ambulances to reach people in emergencies. Local residents have expressed their anger, saying that the slow response from the Rural Affairs Department shows a lack of accountability and commitment to development.

When locals tried to reach out to officials for help, they found no one available in the Rural Affairs Department office. Even the Executive Engineer’s phone was off. People are upset and have warned that if construction doesn’t start soon, they may have to protest to get their voices heard.

Summary:

  • The road to Areraj in Motihari is in poor condition.

  • A reward for pothole photos has been announced, which locals find ironic.

  • Devotees struggle to use the road during religious events.

  • No construction has started despite a foundation stone being laid months ago.

  • Residents are frustrated and considering protests for better road conditions.
