Patna has revised plans for the NH-131B four-lane road project connecting Navgachia to Chaudharydih. The project will include wider roads and enhanced flood protection measures.

What are the key changes to the NH-131B project?

Instead of constructing a new flyover near Zeromile, the existing service road will be widened by 2 meters on each side, resulting in a total width of 22 meters. To prevent flood damage, a 900-meter dam will be constructed from Mahadevpur Ghat to the new four-lane bridge. This dam is expected to cost approximately ₹9 crore and will protect the road and nearby villages from flooding.

What new infrastructure is planned?

An approach road will be built from Jahnavi Chowk towards Navgachia, linking to the four-lane bridge. With this new approach road to the Vikramshila Bridge and the addition of two more four-lane bridges, there will be a continuous six-lane road from Zero Mile to Jahnavi Chowk.

How will the project be carried out?

The entire NH-131B project will be completed in two phases.

What is the cost breakdown of each phase?

Phase Description Length Cost
Phase 1 Navgachia Zero Mile to Jahnavi Chowk 9 km ₹295 crore
Phase 2 Barari Bypass Mode to Chaudharydih 4.5 km ₹111 crore

This project continues efforts to enhance regional connectivity in Bihar and it aims to balance development with local concerns, adapting to evolving needs.
