The accident took place near Khanni Top on the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road. The bulletproof army vehicle was carrying between 17 to 20 soldiers and was on its way to a high-altitude outpost when its driver lost control. The vehicle then fell into a gorge that was estimated to be 200 to 250 feet deep.
Casualties and Immediate Response
In this unfortunate incident, 10 Indian Army soldiers lost their lives, and 11 others sustained injuries. Following the crash, army and local administration teams promptly arrived at the site.
