What’s inside:
A tragic road accident in Munger led to the death of a young boy, highlighting issues of accountability and police jurisdiction.
A serious road accident happened around noon on Thursday at the Jamalpur station’s railway warehouse. A 12-year-old boy named Aditya Kumar was loading rice onto a truck when he was suddenly hit by the vehicle. Sadly, he died on the spot. Aditya lived in Badi Ashikpur and was the son of a sweeper working for the Municipal Council.
After the accident, the truck driver quickly left the scene. It’s reported that to cover up the incident, the contractor and some workers moved Aditya’s body to a hut and hid it under sacks. However, other children who were there informed Aditya’s family. When they arrived and found the body, they were very upset and confronted a clerk at the site.
This incident led to a confrontation with the police as well. The family initially took the body to the East Colony police station, but then it was sent to Adarsh police station in Jamalpur. This back-and-forth created more anger among the family and supporters, leading to a chaotic situation until local police intervened.
Family members and their supporters demanded justice and compensation, sitting with the body at the warehouse for hours. The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and local police assured them that they would take appropriate action. The police confirmed that the body was sent for a post-mortem and a ‘zero FIR’ was registered for further legal action.
As the situation unfolds, authorities are expected to address the family’s demands. The police are working to ensure that the case is properly handled, and the community is watching closely for updates on justice for Aditya.
