A shocking incident has emerged from the Patna University campus where a clerk working for a construction company has been arrested for raping a female cook. The victim was working at the project site kitchen when the accused, identified as Amarnath, committed the crime. The police responded immediately to the report and managed to arrest the accused within just four hours.

What happened at the construction site?

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, worked as a cook at the project office of a construction company operating inside the Patna University campus. According to the police investigation, the harassment began on Thursday when the clerk, Amarnath, molested the woman. On Friday, finding the victim alone in the kitchen, he locked the room and sexually assaulted her. The victim attempted suicide after the incident but was saved by a worker who then alerted the police.

How did the police respond?

City SP (Central) Diksha stated that the police team acted very quickly after receiving the information. An FIR was registered immediately, and a team was dispatched to the location. The police successfully arrested Amarnath within four hours of the case being filed. A forensic science laboratory team also visited the crime scene to collect necessary evidence, and the room has been sealed for investigation.

Who is the accused?

The accused has been identified as Amarnath, who worked as a Munshi (clerk) at the construction site. He is a resident of Chhatauni in the East Champaran district. The police are currently processing his statement and evidence to file a charge sheet promptly. The investigation is also looking into whether there was prior awareness of harassment among other site personnel.
