In a shocking incident reported from Munger, Bihar, a 16-year-old girl was strangled to death allegedly by her own aunt. The event took place in Kutloopur village under the Mufassil police station area on Saturday night. Police investigations reveal that the accused was pressuring the minor for a same-sex relationship, and the crime was committed after the girl refused the proposal.
How did the murder take place?
The victim, identified as Rachna, a class 10 student, had gone to the house of Kajal Kumari, who is related to her as an aunt (Bua). When the girl did not return home, her family began a search. On Sunday, her body was found inside Kajal’s residence. Family members allege that Kajal strangled Rachna to death. The police were informed, and they recovered the body for postmortem at Munger Sadar Hospital.

Villagers and the victim’s family have stated that Kajal Kumari (26) often dressed and behaved like a man. They alleged that she had a history of pressuring women and young girls into relationships. The family claims that on the night of the incident, Kajal tried to force Rachna into a homosexual relationship, and killed her when she resisted.

Sadar DSP Abhishek Anand visited the spot and confirmed that prima facie it looks like a case of strangulation. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has collected evidence from the scene.
