A shocking case of cyber blackmailing has surfaced in Bhagalpur involving a female police constable. Criminals created a fake Instagram profile and uploaded deepfake nude photos and videos of the officer to pressure her into marriage. The victim’s mother has lodged an FIR at the Barari Police Station against three individuals. The police have launched raids in Navgachia and Purnia districts to apprehend the suspects.

Extortion Demands and Threats
The accused, identified as Muhammad Hayat from Navgachia, initially pressured the constable to marry him. When she refused, he and his associates demanded ₹50 lakh in extortion. They threatened to ruin her reputation if the demands were not met. On January 8, the accused informed the victim that her obscene images had been uploaded to Instagram using fake handles like ‘Cop…S… Khan’.
Suspects and Police Investigation
The FIR names Muhammad Hayat as the main accused, along with Muhammad Rahmat from Purnia and a third suspect named Mustafa. Rahmat allegedly made the threatening calls. Barari Station House Officer Bittu Kumar Kamal confirmed that raids are underway to arrest the accused. The police are currently analyzing the digital evidence linked to the fake social media accounts used in the crime.
