There is great news for the residents of Bhojpur district and nearby areas. The Railways is actively considering a plan to extend the route of the Patna-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express up to Ara Junction. The Danapur Division is currently making preparations for this change. Once this extension is approved, passengers from Ara will not have to travel to Patna to catch this train for Kolkata, making their journey much more convenient.

Maintenance and Operations Plan
The railway officials have decided to make Ara Junction the new terminal for this train. To support this, the washing pit at Ara Junction will be used for the primary maintenance of the train. The plan suggests that the maintenance work will be done at night. This step is expected to help the train run on time and utilize the empty pit at the station.
New Timings and Fare Details
Currently, the train departs from Patna Junction at 05:30 AM and reaches Howrah by 01:25 PM. After the extension, the train is likely to depart from Ara Junction between 04:00 AM and 04:30 AM. Passengers can expect a small increase in the fare, roughly between Rs 20 to Rs 40, due to the additional distance. The final schedule will be released after the Railway Board gives its official approval.
