The long wait for a dedicated campus for Bihar Engineering University (BEU) is coming to an end. The new administrative building located in the Mithapur institutional hub of Patna is in its final stages of construction. According to the latest updates from the Building Construction Department, the campus is expected to be fully ready and operational by April 2026. Currently, the university functions from a temporary setup at Aryabhatta Knowledge University, but this move will provide it with its own independent headquarters.

Construction Status and Timeline

Officials have confirmed that the main structure of the five-story (G+4) building is complete. Work is currently in progress for interior finishing, electrical wiring, and the construction of a large central archway at the main entrance. High-level inspections are happening regularly to ensure the April deadline is met. Once finished, the university administration will shift entirely to this new location before the summer session intensifies.

The project is being built at a cost of ₹66.92 Crore on a 5-acre plot. The administrative building covers a massive area of over 1.11 lakh square feet. Apart from the main office, the campus also features a separate guest house and modern security boundaries. The building layout is designed to handle all major academic tasks efficiently.

University Role and Governance

Bihar Engineering University was established to bring all government and private engineering colleges in the state under one roof. Governed by the BEU Act of 2021, it ensures that syllabus and examination standards remain uniform across Bihar. The new infrastructure will help the administration better manage the academic calendar and upcoming B.Tech and B.Arch examinations for the 2025-26 session.
