Patna Municipal Corporation has launched a new scheme for the people of the city. Now you do not need to throw your old electronic items in the garbage or sell them at cheap rates to scrap dealers. The corporation has decided to buy e-waste directly from households and offices. This initiative starts in February 2026 to ensure proper recycling of hazardous materials found in electronics.

What is the Rate List for Old Electronics?

The corporation has released a detailed price list for buying e-waste. These rates are set higher than the market price to encourage people to sell their waste to the municipal body. Tenders have been awarded to a specialized agency for this work. You can check the prices per kilogram in the table below.

Residents can easily sell their old gadgets by contacting the corporation. You can call the helpline number 155304 to book a pickup request. The ward offices have started mapping commercial hubs and office complexes for the first phase of collection. Awareness sessions of 45 minutes will also be conducted to inform people about the harmful effects of lead and mercury found in e-waste. This step will help improve Patna’s ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2026.
