What’s inside:
A major fraud case in Bihar involves unemployed youth being cheated of large sums by fake NGO representatives claiming police jobs.
In Motihari, Bihar, a serious fraud case has come to light where many unemployed young people were cheated of lakhs of rupees. This scam involved fake representatives claiming to help them get reinstated as police mitras. The local police have taken this matter seriously and have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the issue.
The SIT has arrested a man who was pretending to be the ‘State President’ of Bihar Police Mitra. Investigations show that this fraud network has spread to other districts like Rohtas and Saran, affecting many more young people looking for jobs.
Reports indicate that an NGO targeted 41 unemployed youths, collecting between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh from each by promising them a monthly salary of Rs 20,000. Even the sons of local police staff were not spared, and payments were made through UPI methods like ‘Pay Phone’.
In a shocking twist, the scammers even organized fake training sessions in Muzaffarpur and issued ID cards at police stations, making their operation seem legitimate. The involvement of some local police officers is also under investigation, raising serious concerns.
As the investigation progresses, the SIT has added Cyber Police to their team and conducted raids in Motihari and Muzaffarpur. They are also tracing social media channels used to lure these young people into the scam.
