Bihar Police Headquarters has made it clear that strict action will be taken against vehicle owners violating number plate rules. A special checking campaign is being run across all districts to catch vehicles with dirty, tampered, or illegal number plates. If any vehicle is found with a modified number plate or unauthorized writing, the police will take on-spot action against the driver. Authorities have started checking every vehicle closely to maintain law and order on the roads.
Strict Action Against Illegal Boards
Patna Traffic Police and Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar have issued strict orders regarding the misuse of government boards. Private vehicles displaying boards like “Police,” “Press,” “Army,” or other government symbols without authorization will face severe penalties. A fine of ₹2,500 has been set for using illegal government boards on private cars. This step ensures that private individuals do not misuse official symbols to intimidate the public or bypass traffic rules.
Fine for Caste Words and Tampered Plates
The administration is also cracking down on vehicles displaying caste-related words, slogans, or inappropriate language. Owners of such vehicles can face fines up to ₹5,000 during the inspection. Additionally, if a number plate is found dirty or tampered with to hide the registration number, the Driving License (DL) of the driver may be seized or suspended immediately. Police are also authorized to register FIRs in cases where false boards are used to threaten people.
