A shocking incident has been reported from the tourist city of Rajgir in the Nalanda district of Bihar. On the morning of February 6, 2026, the bodies of four pilgrims from Bengaluru were discovered inside a room at the Digambar Jain Dharamshala. The room had been locked from the inside for three days, and the discovery was made after staff noticed a foul smell coming from the area.

Who were the victims staying at the Dharamshala?
According to the police reports, the four individuals included one man and three women. They had arrived in Rajgir on January 31, 2026, for a religious visit after completing a trip to Nepal. One of the victims has been identified through an Aadhaar card as GR Nag Prasad. The group was last seen on February 2 and had planned to visit Pawapuri. They were staying in room number 6AB of the Dharamshala.
What actions are the police taking now?
Senior police officials, including the Nalanda Superintendent of Police and Rajgir Station Chief Raman Kumar Singh, immediately reached the site. The police found the bodies hanging and have sealed the room for investigation. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team from Patna was called to examine the scene for any signs of struggle or foul play. The bodies will be sent for post-mortem once the forensic team completes their work.
