How was the official caught red-handed?

The Vigilance Bureau acted on a complaint from Om Prakash, a Deputy Director in the same department. He reported that Singh demanded a total bribe of 10 lakh rupees to clear an allotment of 1.70 crore rupees. This money was part of a larger fund for salaries and equipment at 26 ITIs. A trap team led by DSP Pawan Kumar-1 caught Singh inside his car in the parking area as he accepted the first installment of the bribe.

What was recovered during the search?

Immediately after the arrest, another team led by DSP Binod Kumar Pandey conducted a search at Singh’s residence in Kankarbagh. The officers recovered over 15 lakh rupees in cash and several investment documents during the raid. Singh is now facing charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act and will be produced before the Special Vigilance Court. During the arrest, Singh claimed he was being framed for exposing a larger tender scam, but the investigation is ongoing based on the recovered evidence.
