Preparations for the upcoming Mahashivratri Mahotsav Shobha Yatra in Patna City are in full swing. The event is scheduled for February 15, 2026. A crucial meeting was held at the sub-divisional office to finalize security and administrative arrangements. The meeting was chaired by MLA Ratnesh Kumar and attended by SDO Satyam Sahay along with other senior officials. The administration has issued strict guidelines to ensure the event passes off peacefully without any disturbance.
Procession Route and Strict Guidelines
The Shobha Yatra will start from the ancient Shiva temple in Simli and proceed via the main Ashok Rajpath route to reach Gaighat. The Mahashivratri Mahotsav Shobha Yatra Committee is organizing the event, and thousands of devotees are expected to participate. The procession will conclude at Gaighat, where the Gauri Shankar Mandir Nyas Samiti will host a reception and distribute awards to the best religious tableaus.
To maintain law and order, the administration has announced a complete ban on the display of weapons during the procession. Additionally, the use of high-volume DJ sound systems is strictly prohibited. Only traditional musical instruments or sound systems within permissible limits are allowed. Organizers of tableaus must obtain a license from the sub-divisional office in a timely manner. No provocative slogans or posters will be tolerated during the event.
Security Arrangements and Civic Facilities
Security remains a top priority for the administration. A total of 53 magistrates have been deputed to oversee different sectors along the route. A large number of police personnel, including women officers and the Rapid Action Force (RAF), will be deployed at sensitive intersections. ASP Rajkishore Singh is directly monitoring the security plan to handle crowd management effectively.
The administration has also assured proper civic amenities for the devotees participating in the Yatra:
- Electricity: Uninterrupted power supply will be provided along the entire Ashok Rajpath route.
- Sanitation: The Municipal Corporation will conduct special cleaning drives before and during the procession.
- Water Supply: Drinking water facilities will be installed at various points for the public.
- Surveillance: CCTV cameras will monitor key locations to keep a check on anti-social elements.
