A 30-year-old woman named Khushbu Kumari gave birth to a baby girl on board the 13287 UP South Bihar Express on Wednesday, February 11. She was traveling alone with her two young children from Raipur to Patna when labor pains started after the train left Jasidih station. Co-passengers in the S-1 coach immediately informed the railway staff, leading to a quick medical response at the next stop.

Emergency response and medical assistance at Jhajha

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and a medical team from the Jhajha Railway Health Unit were alerted while the train was still in transit. As soon as the train arrived at Jhajha station around 7:11 AM, female co-passengers and Dr. Shadab Ahmed assisted the woman inside the coach. Following the successful birth, the mother and the newborn were shifted to the Referral Hospital in Jhajha under the RPF Operation Sewa initiative.
