Details of the Attack at Bhawani Mor
The attack occurred around 10:00 PM when Ramesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Jasauli and a journalist for a Hindi daily, was heading back home from Pakdi Bangali. After reaching Bhawani Mor to pick up his motorcycle from his market shop, two individuals on a motorcycle overtook him and opened fire. A single bullet hit him in the stomach, causing him to fall. Local residents and family members initially rushed him to the Siwan Sadar Hospital, but doctors later referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) due to his deteriorating health condition.
Police Investigation and Victim Statement
Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha visited the hospital to gather information and dispatched a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to the crime scene. From his hospital bed, Ramesh Kumar Singh provided a statement suggesting a possible Dubai connection behind the attack. He alleged that a criminal involved in a past gang-war case had been pressuring him to clear his name. Following Singh’s refusal, he reportedly received threats from jail. The police are now investigating these claims and examining phone records to identify the suspects.
