The joint team acted on specific intelligence and intercepted a vehicle near the BMP-16 petrol pump. During the check, the police recovered illegal weapons and heavy tools, preventing what could have been a major crime in the city.

How was the operation executed?

On February 13, 2026, the police received a tip-off about suspicious movement in the area. Acting swiftly, a team led by City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh set up a trap near the BMP-16 petrol pump. Around 1:00 AM on February 14, the team surrounded a vehicle and took four individuals into custody. The officials stated that this was a coordinated effort between the local police and the Special Task Force to control criminal activities in the capital.

The search of the vehicle led to the discovery of dangerous arms and equipment. The presence of an iron cutter machine suggests that the gang was likely planning a bank heist or a large-scale burglary.

Who are the arrested suspects?

The main accused has been identified as Mohammad Shahrukh, a resident of Phulwarisharif. According to police records, this gang has a long history of crime and has been active in over 12 to 20 districts across Bihar. They are allegedly involved in serious offenses such as dacoity, extortion, and kidnapping. The police are now conducting further raids to track down other members associated with this network.
