A tragic incident occurred in Jharkhand on Monday evening when an air ambulance crashed in the Chatra district. The aircraft, operated by Redbird Airways, was flying from Ranchi to Delhi when it went down in the dense forests of Kasiyatu in Simaria. Authorities have confirmed that all seven people on board lost their lives in this accident. The local police and rescue teams reached the spot late at night to recover the bodies, marking a sad day for the state.

Timeline of the Crash and Weather Conditions

The flight took off from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi at exactly 7:11 PM. Everything seemed normal initially, but the plane lost contact with the Kolkata Air Traffic Control (ATC) at 7:34 PM. Just about 10 minutes later, villagers in the area reported hearing a loud explosion nearby.

Rescue teams were alerted quickly, and the coordination center started work by 8:05 PM. Initial reports suggest that heavy rain and strong winds might have forced the plane off its path, leading to the crash. Chatra SP Sumit Aggarwal confirmed that the recovery operation continued late into the night.

Details of the Deceased and Investigation

The crash claimed the lives of everyone on board, including the flight crew and medical staff. The patient, Sanjay Kumar, was a businessman being transferred to Delhi for specialized treatment after suffering severe burns in a fire incident. The list of the deceased includes:

  • Pilots: Captain Vivek and Captain Sabrajdeep
  • Patient & Family: Sanjay Kumar, his wife Archna Devi, and nephew Dhruv Kumar
  • Medical Team: Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta and Paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra

Authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation. They are looking into three main possibilities: technical engine failure, the impact of severe weather conditions, or potential human error during the flight diversion.
