North Eastern Railway has announced a partial change in the schedule of Train No. 55102, which runs between Mau and Chhapra Kacheri. This adjustment will come into effect from March 5, 2026. The decision was taken to improve connectivity at Bhatni junction for passengers arriving from Gorakhpur via the Lokmanya Tilak Express. By delaying the departure of the passenger train slightly, the railway aims to ensure that commuters do not miss their connecting journey towards Bihar.

Why was the train schedule changed?

Official sources from the North Eastern Railway Varanasi Division explained that the timing shift was based on requests from daily commuters. Train No. 15018, the Kashi Express, usually arrives at Bhatni around 07:10 AM. Previously, the Mau-Chhapra passenger was scheduled to leave Bhatni at 07:10 AM, making it impossible for arriving passengers to catch it. The new departure time of 07:25 AM provides a 15-minute window for travelers to safely transfer between platforms. This change specifically benefits those heading to stations like Mairwa, Jiradei, and Siwan.

New Timings for Key Stations

The updated schedule shows that the train will run 10 to 15 minutes later than its original time at several halts. It is important to note that timings for stations between Mau and Bhatni, and those beyond Siwan, remain unchanged. The digital systems, including NTES and IRCTC, have been updated to reflect these changes for passengers checking their status online.

Station Name Arrival Time Departure Time
Bhatni 07:15 07:25
Nonapar Halt 07:32 07:33
Bhatpar Rani 07:41 07:43
Bankata 07:51 07:53
Mairwa 08:00 08:02
Karchhui Halt 08:07 08:08
Jiradei 08:12 08:14
Siwan 08:25 08:30

Ticket Fare and General Rules

The fare for the complete journey from Mau to Chhapra Kacheri remains approximately 40 rupees for the general unreserved class. Passengers can buy their tickets directly from station counters or through the UTS mobile application. As per official railway rules, every passenger must carry a valid photo identity proof such as an Aadhar Card or Voter ID card. For those seeking refunds on unreserved tickets, the request must be made at the station of origin within three hours of the ticket being issued.
