Kia India plans to launch updated Sonet facelift and new generation Carnival next year

Kia, the popular car manufacturer, is preparing to launch the updated Sonet and the highly anticipated new generation Carnival in the near future in the Indian market. These launches promise a blend of style, technology, and innovation, for which Kia is known.

The Sonet facelift, which is generating a lot of discussion, is expected to be ready for launch at the end of this year or the beginning of 2024. The latest images give a glimpse of its new design. The partially hidden Sonet reveals several exciting updates, including distinctive LED DRLs and a new headlamp cluster. It also features Kia’s latest design language-inspired new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and vertically aligned LED taillights.

However, there is no specific information about the interior yet. It is expected to feature a redesigned dashboard with a dual-screen setup. This setup is likely to include a user-friendly touchscreen infotainment system along with a fully digital instrument console. Additionally, it is expected to come with a dashcam, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite, and new upholstery.

Kia is also set to introduce the new generation Carnival next year, which will enter the premium MPV segment. After discontinuing the third generation Carnival due to the completion of its production lifecycle, Kia is ready to re-enter the Indian market. The facelifted Carnival, presented as the Kia KA4 at Auto Expo 2023, has undergone significant changes in its styling.

Notable styling cues from the Seltos facelift are expected to be seen in the new Carnival, including connected L-shaped tail lamps and Kia’s signature star map lighting. Kia India CEO Kookhyun Shim has emphasized the brand’s commitment to bring the latest and best models to the Indian market, ensuring that it stays away from outdated styles.

In addition to visual updates, the new Carnival will offer high levels of comfort, features, and technology. There is a possibility that Kia will adopt a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, which could result in an increase in the price of the new Carnival. The new Carnival will directly compete with the Toyota Vellfire in its segment.
