Aprilia RS457: A New Competitor in the Indian Sports Bike Market

The Aprilia RS457 sports bike is set to challenge the likes of KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 400, and Yamaha YZF-R3 in the Indian market. Competitively priced, it is also expected to give the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha R3 a run for their money. The RS457 boasts a high-quality design that Indian consumers have come to expect from Aprilia. At first glance, the Aprilia RS457 sports bike appears similar to the smaller sibling of the RS 660. As a sports bike, it comes with full fairing, clip-on and rear set foot pegs, and sleek LED headlamps and daytime running lamps at the front.

Aprilia’s Affordable Supersport Bike Launches in India

Aprilia has recently launched its most affordable supersport bike, the RS457, in India. The Indian-made Aprilia RS457 is priced at INR 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has announced that the delivery of the bike will commence from March. Prior to this, the production of the RS457 had begun at the Indian factory of Aprilia’s parent company, Piaggio.

Aprilia RS457: Key Features

The bike is powered by a new 457cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin engine. It will generate a maximum power of 47 bhp and a torque of 46 Nm. To support the powertrain, a six-speed gearbox has also been provided. This bike is based on a twin-spar aluminium frame. It features USD forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear.

Aprilia RS457: Special Features

The Aprilia RS457 sports bike comes with a 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brake paired with dual-channel ABS. The 17-inch wheels are fitted with TVS Eurogrip Protorq tyres. Key features of the Aprilia RS457 include LED lights, ride-by-wire throttle, LED lighting, traction control, three riding modes, ABS, anti-roll system, and a 5-inch TFT screen.
