Bajaj Auto is set to launch a more affordable variant of its Chetak electric scooter brand in the coming days. In addition, the company plans to upgrade the Chetak Electric early next year. Currently, the brand is available in two variants, Premium and Urban, priced at Rs 1.47 lakh and Rs 1.23 lakh, respectively. The new entry-level variant will further boost growth for the popular brand, which is currently the third best-selling electric scooter brand in India.
According to Rakesh Sharma, a senior official at Bajaj, the Chetak brand had performed well in the last financial year and the company is confident of good growth in the current year as well. The company is introducing an affordable variant to further increase sales. Images of this new model have already been leaked. The upgraded 2025 variant will also feature additional new features and a larger battery.
Despite not being very stylish, the Chetak brand has established a huge trust among Indian buyers. With the more affordable variant, the company aims to reach the second position in India’s electric scooter market. It remains to be seen how the brand will continue to perform with the new variants and upgrades, but Bajaj is optimistic about its future growth prospects.
