Bajaj to Launch Premium Variant of Chetak Electric Scooter
Bajaj, the two-wheeler manufacturer, is gearing up to launch a new premium variant of its Chetak electric scooter on January 5th. The Chetak premium variant has already been spotted at dealerships, providing some recent insights into the upcoming scooter. Prior to this, the company launched the Chetak Urban variant, which is an affordable entry-level electric scooter, while the premium variant will be launched at a higher price point.
New Features in the Chetak Premium Variant
The Chetak premium variant comes with a new TFT instrument display, replacing the LCD display in the existing model. The new TFT dash will include features such as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Users will be able to use functions like call, text, and music. The new Chetak will also include a remote immobilisation function and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Additionally, its boot space has been increased from 18 litres to 21 litres, allowing for more storage.
Extended Range in the New Chetak Premium Variant
The new Chetak premium variant will offer better capabilities than the existing Urban variant, including a larger 3.2kWh battery pack. This electric scooter will provide a range of 127 kilometers on a single charge, compared to 108 kilometers in the existing model with a 2.9kWh battery. Its top speed will be 73 km/h. Due to the larger battery, its charging time will be approximately 30 minutes longer than the current model, which takes 4 hours to charge. The scooter is expected to be priced at 1.3 lakh INR (ex-showroom).
