Honda is preparing to launch a new scooter model in India to further strengthen its dominance in the scooter segment, where its Activa scooter has already established its dominance. The company has patented the name “Stylo 160” for its new scooter model. Honda’s portfolio currently does not have any scooter in the 160cc engine segment, but the company is planning to enter this segment with a powerful engine and a new design. The Stylo 160 scooter is currently being sold in the Indonesian market and will soon be launched in India.
The design of the Honda Stylo 160 scooter is attractive to all age groups, with a premium look. The scooter will compete with Yamaha’s Aerox 150 and Hero’s Zoom 160 in the Indian market. The scooter features a round headlamp, full LED lighting, a digital console, a keyless start system, a USB charger, a large single-piece seat, and a strong grab rail with a curved design. The scooter also features telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear, with disc brakes at both ends.
The Honda Stylo 160 scooter will be powered by a 156.9cc liquid-cooled engine that can generate around 16 bhp of power and 15 Nm of torque. The scooter is expected to give a mileage of up to 45 km/l. However, the official price of the scooter has not been confirmed by Honda yet, but it is expected to be priced above INR 100,000.
Honda’s move to launch a new scooter model in the 160cc engine segment will help the company to expand its portfolio and further consolidate its position in the Indian scooter market, where Honda’s Activa scooter has remained the market leader for many years. The Stylo 160 scooter will offer customers a new option in the premium scooter segment with its powerful engine, attractive design and modern features.
