Maruti, India’s largest car manufacturer, is preparing to launch a new electric car. Maruti has always been renowned for the superior features and designs of its vehicles. Now, the company is set to launch its first electric car. According to media reports, Maruti could launch its first electric car in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, and will be sold through its premium outlet, NEXA.
New eVX to Enter Premium Segment
Maruti has always been famous for its economical and affordable cars. However, this time around, Maruti will introduce a premium model in the electric car market. Although Maruti has already unveiled the eVX, the company has redesigned the new EV model. Maruti had previously announced that it would launch six electric cars over the next 7-8 years.
Maruti Suzuki eVX to be Built on New Platform
Maruti is developing its new eVX on a new platform. The size of the car will be compact, but there will be ample space. It will be an electric SUV with a length of approximately 4.3 meters, width of 1.8 meters, height of 1.6 meters, and a wheelbase of approximately 2.7 meters.
Price and Features of the New Electric Car
Though no information has been shared by Maruti regarding the price of the new Maruti eVX, some reports suggest that it could be launched at a price between 20 to 22 lakh rupees. Keeping safety in mind, the car could feature anti-lock braking system, airbags, 60-degree camera, and ADAS. The car will also offer two battery options, a 48kWh and 60kWh battery pack, which will provide a range of approximately 400km and 550km respectively, allowing customers to choose according to their preference.
