Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest car manufacturer, is preparing to launch its new electric car. The company is well-known for the outstanding features and design of its vehicles. According to media reports, Maruti Suzuki could launch its first electric car in the financial year 2024-2025. The car will be sold via its premium outlet, NEXA.
New eVX to Enter Premium Segment
Maruti Suzuki has always been popular for its economical and affordable cars. However, this time, the company will introduce its electric car as a premium model in the market. Although Maruti has already unveiled the eVX, the new EV model has been redesigned by the company. Maruti announced that it would launch six electric vehicles over the next 7-8 years.
Maruti Suzuki eVX to be Built on New Platform
Maruti is preparing its new eVX on a new platform. It will be compact in size but will offer ample space. It will also be an electric SUV with a length of approximately 4.3 meters, a width of 1.8 meters, a height of 1.6 meters, and a wheelbase of about 2.7 meters.
Pricing and Battery Options
Although Maruti Suzuki has not shared any information about the price of this new Maruti eVX, it is speculated that it could be launched at a price range of 20 to 22 lakh rupees. Considering its safety features, the car may include features like anti-lock braking system, airbags, a 60-degree camera, and ADAS. Maruti is offering two battery options for this car: a 48kWh and a 60kWh battery pack, which will provide a range of 400 km and 550 km respectively.
