Mahindra Thar 5-door: Introduction
The much-anticipated Mahindra Thar 5-door is finally in the works. The Thar with five doors has been seen numerous times undergoing testing, although all of these units were fully covered. The launch of the vehicle in India has already been announced, and it is expected to hit the Indian market in 2024. However, this car will be somewhat similar to the character door 3 Thar.
Features of the Mahindra Thar 5-door
The Mahindra Thar 5-door will be a long-wheelbase version of the existing Thar. Its wheelbase is expected to be 300mm longer, resulting in more cabin space for second-row passengers. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra will offer individual rear seats or a bench seat setup. The car will be a feature-rich off-roader SUV, packed with amenities including a sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and an updated touchscreen infotainment system, in addition to a front center armrest.
Size and Engine of the Mahindra Thar 5-door
The new 5-door Thar will have a length of 3985 mm, a width of 1820 mm, and a height of 1844 mm, making it bigger than the Jimny. As for the engine, the company will offer the car with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The Maruti Jimny comes with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 105 bhp of power and 134 Nm of torque.
Price of the Mahindra Thar 5-door
The 5-door Mahindra Thar will compete with the recently launched Maruti Jimny. However, it is a larger and more powerful car. It should be noted that its price is likely to be higher than the Maruti Jimny, which is currently being sold at a price range of INR 12.74 lakh to INR 15.05 lakh (Ex-showroom).
