Mahindra 5 Door Thar: Preparations Underway for Launch of Updated Version
Mahindra Thar, one of the popular off-road SUVs, is getting ready for an updated version. Testing for this off-road SUV has begun on Indian roads and it has been spotted in several locations. The manufacturer has given it the name Mahindra Thar 5-Door. Although spy shots of it appear from time to time, it has often been seen in Landhor and its spy shots have surfaced from there. Prior to its market launch, high altitude testing of this off-road SUV is in progress. Automobile manufacturers often test their vehicles on all sorts of environments and roads, to ensure the vehicle doesn’t face any difficulty in any terrain. Mahindra is testing the upcoming Thar 5 Door in all weather conditions and all types of roads.
Design of Mahindra 5 Door Thar
The Mahindra 5 Door Thar SUV could come with a large touchscreen, possibly a 10.25-inch unit, which has become common for SUVs in the country. These are also the least important things that attract most customers. The existing 3-Door Mahindra Thar has a 7-inch touchscreen. Users have complained about its small size, average display, and interface. The new Thar 5-Door will be a more practical offering compared to the 3-door model while maintaining off-road capability. Previous spy shots have revealed several features with the dashboard and the second row of seats.
Interior of Mahindra 5 Door Thar
The Mahindra 5 Door Thar could have a new instrument cluster, which could include a large MID borrowed from the Scorpio N. Some changes have been made to the adjustable dashboard according to the large touchscreen. However, other features like HVAC controls, AC vents, lower toggle switches, rotary dials, and physical buttons look the same as the existing 3-Door Thar. Since users will expect more comfort and features from the 5-Door Thar, the SUV is equipped with a single-piece center armrest for those sitting in front.
Exterior of Mahindra 5 Door Thar
From the front, the 5-Door Thar will have most of the signature features associated with the standard Thar. The main reason people will buy the 5-door version will still be its strong road presence. However, it will look completely different from the side due to the addition of rear doors. From the side, the 5-door Thar could lose some of its aggressive personality. The rear design and style will be largely similar to the standard Thar.
