Maruti’s First Electric Car
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car sales company, is expected to launch its first electric car in India next year. The highly anticipated vehicle is named Maruti Suzuki eVX. This electric car has been seen many times during testing, and its unveiling was witnessed at the Auto Expo. The company is now set to expand its reach into India’s electric car market, which is currently dominated by Tata Motors with its Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV as the best-selling cars.
Car Design
The production of the much-awaited Maruti Suzuki’s electric car will occur in the Gujarat plant. The design of the car will be significantly different from the concept model. It will feature a horizontal LED light bar to cover the full width at the back. Externally, it will have a raked front windshield and square wheels, and it will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.
Driving Range
The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be available in single and dual-electric motor setups. This highly anticipated electric car could be equipped with a 60kWh battery pack, which will provide a driving range of 550 kilometers once fully charged.
Safety Features and Price
For safety, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will come with 6-airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and ESP. It is expected that the car may also have ADAS technology. The price of the car could start from 22 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). This car will compete with cars like the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV.
