Hyundai has launched the Exter, a 5-seater SUV available in front-wheel drive. The car is available in petrol and CNG fuel options with both manual and automatic transmission. Hyundai has presented the Exter as a feature-loaded SUV and is competing with the segment’s best-selling Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Exter was launched on July 10, 2023.
The Hyundai Exter comes with keyless entry, ABS with EBD, wireless phone charger, BlueLink connected car technology, multi-language UI support, ambient sound of nature, rear AC vents, cruise control, and a smart electric sunroof with voice control. The SUV is available in petrol and CNG options with both manual and automatic transmission options.
In terms of safety features, the Hyundai Exter comes with first-in-segment electronic stability control with vehicle stability management, hill assist control, tire pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags (driver, passenger, side, and curtain), Isofix, rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, headlamp escort function, auto headlamp, rear defogger and rear parking camera, 3-point seat belts for all seats, seat belt reminder, inside rearview camera with telematics switch, and burglar alarm.
The Hyundai Exter is equipped with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm, which is the same engine used in the Grand i10 Nios and Aura. The SUV is available with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The company has also provided a bi-fuel CNG engine in this car. The SUV is claimed to deliver a mileage of 19.2 to 27.1 kmpl.
The starting price of the Hyundai Exter is Rs 6.13 lakh, and the top model is priced at Rs 10.28 lakh.
