Maruti Suzuki Dominates the Best Selling Cars in January 2024

The sales figures for January 2024 are out and once again Maruti Suzuki has demonstrated its dominance in the market. Seven out of the top ten best-selling cars are from Maruti Suzuki. With a sale of 19,630 units, Baleno secured the first position. Compared to last year (January 2023), its sales have increased by 20%. Tata Punch saw an impressive 50% increase in sales year-on-year, selling 17,978 units and securing the second position.

Maruti’s WagonR and Tata Nexon in Third and Fourth Positions

The third spot was captured by Maruti’s WagonR, however, its sales have decreased by 13% as compared to January 2023, with a total of 17,756 units sold in January 2024. Following closely, Tata Nexon secured the fourth position with a total sale of 17,182 units, marking a 10% increase.

Desire, Swift, Brezza and Ertiga Secure the Following Spots

Next in line were Desire (fifth), Swift (sixth), Brezza (seventh), and Ertiga (eighth) respectively, with sales of 16,773, 15,370, 15,303 and 14,632 units. On a year-on-year basis, Desire’s sales have increased by 48%, Brezza and Ertiga’s sales have increased by 7%, while Swift has seen a decrease in sales by 7%.

Mahindra Scorpio and Maruti Fronx Complete the Top Ten

With total sales of 14,293 units, Mahindra Scorpio claimed the ninth position with a massive 64% growth. Maruti Fronx, with a sale of 13,643 units, secured the tenth spot in the list of top ten best-selling cars in January 2024.
