Toyota Introduces Charming SUV with Quality Features to Rival Creta

Toyota has launched a new SUV, the Toyota Taisor, in India to rival the popular Creta. The company has even trademarked the name “Urban Cruiser Taisor” in the country. The car is a rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx, which has been built on the same platform as the Baleno, a car that Toyota sells in India under the name Glanza.

New Toyota Taisor Design

The Taisor’s design is based on the Baleno, with elements of the Maruti Grand Vitara used to give it a distinctive styling. Toyota has utilized this formula in its new subcompact crossover, borrowing design elements from the Highrider. This gives the Taisor a different look from the Fronx, although its side profile could be quite similar.

Toyota Taisor Engine Specifications

The Taisor will have the same engine as the Fronx. It is expected to be equipped with a 1.2-liter K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine. These engines can generate a power of 89 BHP and a torque of 113 Nm. They will be offered with the options of a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.

New Toyota Taisor Features

The cabin of the new Urban Cruiser Taisor will have a similar layout to the Maruti Franks but with a different color theme and upholstery. It is expected to offer features similar to the Fronx, including a 9-inch touchscreen, auto climate control, head-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, connected car tech, cruise control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and an electronic stability program (ESP).
