Weather Update in Uttar Pradesh
The weather department has expressed hope of some improvement in the weather of Uttar Pradesh after Friday. With the rising of the sun, there will be no further fall in the temperature, stated Atul Kumar Singh, a scientist at the Regional Weather Science Center. He further explained that a new western disturbance is moving from Punjab towards the border of Bihar, which has caused the wind direction to shift from west to east. This will reduce the intensity of fog and increase the temperature.
Rainfall
There is also an expectation of occasional light rain during the last two days of the year and the first two days of the new year in the southern parts of the state.
Temperature
The lowest night temperature was recorded in Bahraich at 6.8 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, there was a drop in daytime temperatures in the Agra and Kanpur divisions due to dense fog. The maximum temperature dropped to 4-10 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state. The maximum temperature recorded was 20 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 9 degrees Celsius. For the first time this season, the state experienced a cold day condition. The upcoming western disturbance will cause the temperature to stop falling and reduce the fog. This could also improve the cold day situation.
Fog
On the other hand, some parts of the state will have a cold day on Friday. Many cities in the state remained enveloped in fog on Friday. The morning was accompanied by dense fog. They explained that due to the westward disturbance moving eastward, dense to extremely dense fog had started to spread in the state from the morning of December. As a result, the minimum visibility on Thursday morning in Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Agra, Uri and Allahabad was zero. The minimum visibility in Ballia was 15 meters; Ayodhya, Barabanki, Fursatganj, Fatehpur, and Shahjahanpur was 20 meters and Bareli and Hardoi was 40 meters.
