Jharkhand Faces Heatwave and Lightning Alert
In Jharkhand, 27 people have died due to the heatwave and three people have died from lightning strikes. The weather department has issued both yellow and orange alerts in the state. Yellow alert has been issued in the Garhwa and Palamu regions due to the heatwave, while orange alert has been issued in the northeastern, central, and southern parts of the state due to strong winds. Additionally, lightning alerts have been issued in 17 districts.
Heatwave Continues in Jharkhand
The weather department has extended the alerts till June 4th. Despite a slight decrease in temperature in Palamu, where it was recorded at 47.4 degrees Celsius, the heatwave effect is still prevalent in Garhwa and Palamu areas. The weather department has expressed concerns about lightning and strong winds in 17 districts of the state. In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in several places in Jharkhand, with the northwestern regions still experiencing the heatwave.
Temperature Variations in Different Regions
Some areas in Jharkhand have experienced temperature variations. Ranchi saw a decrease of 3.1 degrees Celsius in minimum temperature, which was recorded at 27.1 degrees Celsius. Jamshedpur’s minimum temperature decreased by 2.9 degrees Celsius to 27.8 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj’s minimum temperature dropped by 0.8 degrees Celsius to 31.5 degrees Celsius. Six districts still have temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
Special Weather Forecast for Lok Sabha Elections
Special weather forecasts have been issued for the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand. The forecast indicates possible rainfall in Godda, Dumka, and Rajmahal areas. The state continues to face extreme weather conditions, with alerts and warnings in place to ensure safety.
