This article talks about the grand Shivalinga being made for the world’s largest Virat Ramayana temple in Bihar.

The world’s biggest Shivalinga, measuring 33 feet, is set to be placed in the new Virat Ramayana temple being built in Chakia, East Champaran, Bihar. This impressive structure is made of granite and has been worked on for about ten years in the village of Pattikadu, Tamil Nadu.

The Shivalinga was transported by a 96-wheeler truck from Mahabalipuram to the temple site on November 21. Before its departure, the local people gathered for a worship ceremony to bless the Shivalinga, marking a significant moment for the village.

The journey to the temple is expected to take around 20 to 25 days. The Shivalinga weighs a massive 210 metric tons and is set to be welcomed in various cities along the way. Once it arrives, it will be a key feature of the temple, which is anticipated to be completed by early next year.

The Virat Ramayana temple will be a colossal structure, measuring 1080 feet in length and 540 feet in width. It will include 18 peaks and 22 smaller temples, with the tallest peak reaching 270 feet. The temple is expected to draw visitors not just from India but also from around the world.

Construction began after the foundation stone was laid on June 20, 2023. The temple is located about 120 kilometers from Patna, in a region that aims to become a major religious tourism hub. Efforts are being made to finish the project on time so that it can be inaugurated for the public soon.
