Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal intercepted a truck carrying banned animal meat from Samastipur to West Bengal near Shishabari on the Araria-Purnia Highway. The truck was being guided by a vehicle ahead of it. The VHP and Bajrang Dal workers attempted to stop the truck based on information received, but the driver fled towards Araria with the guidance of individuals in a four-wheeler. However, the workers managed to chase and apprehend the truck near Shishabari petrol pump. One smuggler escaped in a car while the driver and helper were caught. The police were informed and they seized the truck and arrested the driver and helper. The truck driver is from Sarai in Vaishali district and the sub-driver is from Ganeshpur in Supaul district. A case has been registered against the main smuggling kingpin, Naseem Qureshi, and the driver and sub-driver of the truck and liner, Shoaib Ansari. The capture of the banned animal meat truck involved VHP and Bajrang Dal workers, as well as the district cow protection chief Mukesh Kumar.
