AIMIM Leader Mo. Kalam

The date for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has been finalized and the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the district. Voting is scheduled for May 13 in Darbhanga, Bihar, but no party has announced their candidate for the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat yet. AIMIM has announced to contest elections on 11 seats in Bihar this time, including the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat. It is believed that this is causing some difficulty for parties in selecting candidates.

Current Scenario

The current situation is such that even the current BJP MPs are unable to confirm who will contest the elections from Darbhanga. ‘INDIA’ has also not decided which party will hold this seat. Darbhanga seat has been dominated by Congress five times, Janata Dal and RJD four times each. BJP MPs have won elections from here five times. This time, the people of Darbhanga are eagerly waiting for the announcement of candidates.

Voter Statistics

A total of 29,19,406 voters will cast their votes for the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat. Among them, there are 15,35,515 male voters and 13,83,837 female voters. Additionally, 54 transgender voters will also cast their votes.

AIMIM’s Strategy

Amidst the anticipation for the announcement of candidates, AIMIM’s Bihar Secretary Mo. Kalam claims that to defeat BJP in Bihar, ‘INDIA’ must support AIMIM. The party also states that if ‘INDIA’ does not field a candidate from the seat where AIMIM is contesting, it could alter the election results in Bihar. AIMIM aims to contest on 20 seats in Bihar to keep BJP away from power.
