This article shares news about the upcoming development of Patahi Airport in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, including timelines and plans for a new runway and terminal.

Good news for the people of North Bihar! Patahi Airport in Muzaffarpur is set to begin air services soon after a long wait. The Airport Authority of India has kicked off the tender process for airport development, which means companies can now download the necessary documents to participate.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 27, where technical and financial details regarding the project will be discussed. The last date for submitting proposals is November 17, and the bids will be opened on November 21, with the final bid opening on December 5. This was announced by the Deputy Chief Minister on social media, thanking both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for their support.

As part of the development, a 1050-meter long and 30-meter wide runway will be constructed, along with a terminal building covering 1250 square meters. This new setup will cater to two aircraft initially, with plans for future expansion allowing for larger aircraft and more passenger services.

The Airport Authority recently completed a site survey and found the existing runway in good condition, needing only some renovations. However, to support larger airlines, around 400 acres of additional land will need to be acquired, which may impact nearby villages and businesses.

If everything goes as planned, air connectivity from Patahi Airport to major cities will start in the coming months, making travel easier for the people in North Bihar, especially in Muzaffarpur. This development is expected to create new job opportunities and boost local businesses.
