IAS Officer Anand Mishra Contesting Lok Sabha Elections

Former IPS officer Anand Mishra has resigned from his job and is now contesting the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from the Buxar constituency. Anand Mishra, who was previously posted as an SP in Lakhimpur district of Assam, has been actively campaigning among the people. He gained popularity for his fitness routine and guitar skills during his tenure in Dhubri district, which went viral on social media.

Controversy Surrounding Anand Mishra’s Candidacy

Opposition candidate Mithilesh Tiwari of the BJP, who is also contesting from the Buxar constituency, referred to Anand Mishra as an ‘Urban Naxal’. In response, Anand Mishra expressed his displeasure and criticized Tiwari for labeling him as such. He stated that it was disrespectful to call someone who has served the country in uniform an ‘Urban Naxal’. The Buxar constituency has been traditionally won by BJP candidates in the past six elections.
