A tragic incident took place in Siwan when a 15-year-old girl named Shabnam Khatoon lost her life in a road accident. This unfortunate event happened near Siswan Dhala in the evening, and Shabnam was from Chhata village. The accident occurred when two motorcycles collided, resulting in her being thrown onto the road where she was then struck by a speeding truck.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving Shabnam critically injured. Sadly, she died on the spot from the impact. The news of the accident spread quickly, leading to a major reaction from local residents who were understandably upset.

People in the area tried to contact the police by calling 112, but the police did not arrive for three long hours. This delay led to frustration among the crowd, who then blocked the main Siwan-Siswan road, setting tires on fire and creating chaos. Traffic came to a standstill as vehicles lined up on both sides of the blocked road for about five hours.

When the police finally arrived, they faced strong resistance from the angry crowd. Even the Circle Officer, who came to handle the situation, found it difficult to calm everyone down. The protesters demanded to speak with higher officials, showing their dissatisfaction with the police’s delayed response.

Eventually, Sadar SDO Ashutosh Kumar Gupta intervened, reached the scene, and managed to calm the situation. He assured the people that the body would be sent for a post-mortem and explained that the police were delayed due to their involvement in election duty. This incident highlights the need for timely police response in emergencies.
