Political Turmoil in Samastipur

The vice-chairman of the Samastipur Zilla Parishad, Anjana Rai, has been removed from her position. A debate and voting were held on Wednesday at the Collectorate regarding the motion of no confidence. The meeting, chaired by DM Yogendra Singh, started with discussions on the motion of no confidence, followed by voting.

Allegations and Voting

Recently, members of the Zilla Parishad had submitted an application to the Zilla Parishad President expressing no confidence in the vice-chairman. Allegations were made that Anjana Rai does not attend the office regularly and lacks interest in developmental activities. Subsequently, a voting was conducted today at the Collectorate regarding this matter with security arrangements in place.

New Contenders for Vice-Chairman

The removal of Anjana Rai has sparked political activity in the Samastipur Zilla Parishad. In the upcoming election for the new vice-chairman, a coalition of JDU and BJP-backed Zilla Parishad members was observed. It is believed that this coalition will have a strong influence in the election, as Anjana Rai is the wife of the former RJD Zilla Parishad President.

Challenges Ahead

As the new contenders emerge for the position of vice-chairman, Thakur Uday Shankar is being considered a strong candidate. Despite facing opposition from Anjana Rai, he has played a significant role in the political landscape of the Zilla Parishad. The political turmoil in Samastipur continues as the election for the new vice-chairman approaches.
