Announcement of Awards for Police Personnel by the Ministry of Home Affairs a day before Republic Day
The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the awards to be given to police personnel across the country a day before Republic Day. This year, a total of 25 officers and jawans from Bihar will be awarded, including 6 with the Gallantry Police Medal, 2 with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and 17 with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. The selection for the Gallantry Police Medal includes ASI Jyoti Kumar Singh, Havildar Divyangat Vishwa Urang, Constable Shambhu Mahato, ACP Dharmanand Kumar Jha, SI Dharmanand Paswan, and Junior Commando Bir Bahadur Roka.
President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service
For their distinguished service, ACP RM Vijay and Inspector Sunita Kumari from Bihar will be honored with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Significance of Awards
It is noteworthy that the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) is awarded for exceptional record in the police service. The Police Medal (PM) for Meritorious Service is given for the valuable service characterized by resourcefulness and dedication to duty. Meanwhile, the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) is awarded for exceptional bravery in saving lives or preventing crime or apprehending criminals.

On the occasion of Republic Day, 1132 individuals from the police, fire services, home guards, and civil defense services will be honored with the Gallantry and Service Medals.
केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने गणतंत्र दिवस से एक दिन पहले देश भर के पुलिसकर्मियों को पुरस्कारों की घोषणा की है। इस साल बिहार के 25 अफसरों और जवानों को पदक दिए जाएंगे, जिसमें 6 को वीरता पुलिस पदक, 2 को विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुलिस पदक और 17 को सराहनीय सेवा के लिए पुलिस पदक मिलेगा। वीरता पुलिस पदक के लिए चयनित अफसरों में शामिल हैं ज्योति कुमार सिंह, दिवंगत विश्वा उरांव, शंभु महतो, धर्मेन्द्र कुमार झा, धर्मेन्द्र पासवान और बीर बहादुर रोका। विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुलिस पदक से आर मलार विझी और सुनीता कुमारी को सम्मानित किया जाएगा। सराहनीय सेवा के लिए पुलिस पदक प्राप्त करेंगे की कन्नन, अशोक कुमार चौधरी, अभय कुमार लाल, राजेश कुमार, रमाकान्त प्रसाद, दिलीप कुमार दास, असित कुमार पात्रा, सोमनाथ उरावं, बिनोद कुमार, संतोष कुमार पाल, प्रबेज आलम, प्रेमचंद पासवान, रोहित कुमार चौपाल, रवींद्र कुमार पासवान, अशोक राम, मधु कुमारी और अशोक कुमार सिंह। यह उल्लेखनीय है कि विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुलिस पदक विशेष रूप से प्रदान किया जाता है और सराहनीय सेवा के लिए पुलिस पदक बहादुरी के लिए दिया जाता है। गणतंत्र दिवस के अवसर पर पटना के गांधी मैदान में समारोह की तैयारी की गई, जहां नवनियुक्त आईपीएस ने 1132 लोगों को वीरता और सेवा पदक से सम्मानित करने की घोषणा की।
